ISMS Certification acquired
Japio has successfully complied with the requirements for BS7799-2:2002 certification, an internationally-recognized security standard, and of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) Standard (Ver.2.0), the Japanese certification criteria which were developed based on BS7799-2:2002, and was certified for both of them on March 17, 2006.
Building upon the information security management systems that gained Japio the official certification, Japio will continually improve its operations and will provide reliable industrial property rights information services to all our customers.

Information Security Policy
The mission of Japio is to contribute to society and to the economy by providing industrial property information services superior in technology, quality, productivity and reliability.
Japio hereby sets the following Information Security Policy to ensure the proper security of information assets, and to unify the stance each employee takes with regard to security.
- Japio shall appropriately protect its operation assets, namely its internal systems and data, against any unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, leakage and other threat.
- Japio shall set information security policy and procedures, and foster knowledge and awareness of these as well as relevant laws, regulations and obligations regarding information security among all officers, employees and persons engaged in Japio operations, taking measures so that these provisions are faithfully carried out.
- Japio will execute immediate investigation of the cause of any information security incidents that occur and take swift and proper countermeasures against them to limit the damage to the minimum.
- To carry out and improve the above operations continually, Japio shall establish and maintain a information security management system which achieves these goals.
